FAQ

Common questions about browser-based mining, minting security, and how the Authorized Avatars contract works.

What does 'browser mining' actually mean?

Your browser runs Web Workers that hash candidate nonces against the phase target. There is no central server doing the work — the compute happens on your machine, using your CPU. When a hash lands below the target, that result is your ticket to mint.

Why can't someone steal my winning hash?

Your wallet address is one of the values hashed into the work. The same nonce produces a different hash for a different address, so a solution is only valid for the miner who found it. It is untradeable until it is paid for and minted.

How does difficulty scale?

Each phase raises the target by two bits. One bit doubles the expected work, so two bits quadruples it. Phase 0 demands 22 leading-zero bits; the final phase demands 32. Price doubles every phase too, so rushing the collection costs far more than mining patiently.

Where does my payment go?

The entry price is sent as a plain ETH transfer from your wallet directly to the AASA treasury address. There is no intermediary and no escrow — the transaction is visible on the Robinhood Chain explorer.

What decides what my avatar looks like?

The avatar is a pure function of a seed. The seed is the winning work hash, hashed again with the 5-minute time bucket of the mint. No metadata server, no upload — ask twice and you get the same pixels, and so does everyone else.

Do I need a special wallet or chain?

You need an EVM wallet (like MetaMask) connected to Robinhood Chain mainnet, chain ID 4663. If you are on the wrong network the app will offer to switch for you.

How many avatars will there ever be?

Total supply is 4663 — chosen to match the Robinhood Chain mainnet chain ID. It is not a soft cap you can rush: the last phases cost the most work and the most ETH, so reaching the wall is earned.

Is my hash rate shared or tracked centrally?

No. Mining runs locally in your browser, so there is no central hashrate feed. The leaderboard and stats rank wallets by completed mints, not by raw hashing speed.
